On Tuesday this week, Microsoft announced it will open its first retail store outside North America in Sydney. The new store will be located in Westfield Sydney.
Microsoft has expanded rapidly since it was formed and has a presence in more than 189 countries. Microsoft has greatly improved business, communication across the world and it’s no doubt the best thing that has happened in the technology world.
It has a strong presence in North America with more than 110 physical stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, 17 stores –in-store location in China.
Pip Marlow, Microsoft Australia managing director is confident about the extension, “We will regularly donate volunteer hours, host the community events, offer training workshops, support science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and build deeper relationship with our customers, one person at a time”, Marlow said.
Microsoft is planning to improve its relationship with its customers and working hard so as to ensure that everyone has to Microsoft in their quest of ensuring that business, be it small or big, day to day activities are made much easier.
“The space will be as much a place for engaging experiences as it is a retail store. It will complement our excellent retail partner network and be a natural extension of our existing online store”, Marlow said.
David Porter, corporate vice president of worldwide retail stores for Microsoft said that Microsoft plans to expand online into South Africa, Thailand and Korea over next year.
